A layer of Poncho

Beat the cold weather with layers and a Poncho.

Ponchos or Capes is not a new trend. They have been worn for a very long time mostly by older women who wanted to add a bit of style to their outfit. I remember both my mum and grandma wearing them for years. But this changed last year when Burberry came up with their very famous poncho; which unfortunately was not very affordable for everyday women. Thankfully most of the high-street shops offered alternatives which were affordable and too nice not to buy. Primark, Topshop, New Look, Zara all offered some amazing lookalikes that were so affordable that you could buy more than one. They are a  great Christmas gift 🙂

I bought mine from Topshop for only £40, but at first I was finding it difficult to style it with my outfits and to keep myself warm in the winter months. It is not easy to get used to the cold in Leeds when you come from a warm Mediterranean island. But then Layering became my best friend.

Layering is not something new either. It has been a trend for a few years now but it always feels updated and new each season. It is the BEST way to keep warm and stay cool at the same time, while looking fabulous.

Here my layers consist of a basic zara vest which cannot be seen; denim shirt from asos bought earlier this season; a timeless All Saints leather jacket (bought exactly 6 years ago in the winter sales); a pair of black jeans from Primark (which are so comfortable that make me want to wear them every single minute of the day) and my favourite pair of boots from Office (bought in the Black Friday sales!).

Oh I shouldnt forget my early gift from Santa. The bag that I had my eye on for over a year now.

Happy Layering x
